Weight Health Medication Self-Pay Pricing Guide

Important Disclaimer

Weight In Gold Wellness does not dispense medications and is not a pharmacy. We do

not set or control medication prices, and we do not receive any financial benefit based

on which medication you choose, or whether you choose to use medication at all.

Our role is to provide evidence-based medical guidance and help you access safe, effective treatment options that fit your health needs, goals, and budget.

This page provides a centralized overview of cash-pay pricing for select obesity

medications, based on pricing information made available through manufacturers and

related savings programs. Our goal is to help you better understand your options,

compare therapies, and stay informed as part of your care journey.

Overview of Obesity Medications

Obesity medications fall into several major categories based on how they work, how

they are taken, how much average weight loss they tend to produce, and which patients

they may fit best. All of these medications require a prescription and should be chosen

with guidance from your clinician based on factors such as medical history, treatment

goals, affordability, side effects, and personal preference.

Medication Categories at a Glance

¹ In the STEP-1 trial, adults taking semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly lost an average of 15% of body weight after 68 weeks. About 1 in 3 patients lost 20% or more.
² In SURMOUNT-1, adults taking tirzepatide achieved average weight loss of 15.4% at 5 mg, 19.9% at 10 mg, and 22.9% at 15 mg at 72 weeks, compared with 2.1% for placebo.
³ In OASIS 4, oral semaglutide 25 mg daily demonstrated 16.6% mean weight loss in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one comorbidity when treatment was adhered to.
⁴ In CONQUER, adults taking Qsymia® 7.5/46 mg lost about 7.8% of body weight; those taking 15/92 mg lost about 9.8%, versus about 1.2% with placebo at 56 weeks.
⁵ In COR-BMOD, adults taking Contrave® lost 8.1% of starting body weight versus 4.9% with diet and exercise alone. In COR-I, adults taking Contrave® lost 5.4% versus 1.3% with diet and exercise alone.

Choosing the Right Option With Guidance

Choosing an obesity medication is not just about picking the one with the biggest number. At Weight In Gold Wellness, we help patients think through the full picture.

Thinking About Your Goals

Different medications tend to produce different average levels of response. Some patients are aiming for a 5–10% reduction, while others may need a treatment approach more likely to support 10–15% or even 15%+ total body weight reduction.

Making Sure It Fits Your Budget

Affordability matters. Prices vary significantly, and manufacturer savings programs, cash-pay options, and insurance coverage can all change what a medication actually costs.

Considering Side Effects and Tolerability

Every medication category has its own side effect profile. Some are more likely to cause nausea, reflux, constipation, diarrhea, or other gastrointestinal symptoms. Others may cause dry mouth, tingling, mood changes, insomnia, or blood pressure changes. Treatment should match both medical appropriateness and what feels realistic for the patient to tolerate.

Finding a Fit for Your Lifestyle

Some patients strongly prefer a weekly injection. Others want a daily oral medication. Some need help with appetite regulation, while others struggle more with cravings, reward-based eating, or all-or-nothing patterns. Matching treatment to the patient’s daily life helps support better long-term success.

A Note From Weight In Gold Wellness

Medication can be a powerful tool, but it is only one part of obesity care. At Weight In Gold Wellness, treatment decisions are made in the context of the whole person, including biology, medical history, eating patterns, movement, sleep, stress, body composition, and long-term health goals.

Our job is not to push one medication over another. Our job is to help you understand your options and choose a treatment plan that is safe, sustainable, and aligned with your life.
