I’m a physician specializing in obesity medicine, and I also have lived experience with obesity. I know how frustrating it can be to ask for help and feel that your concerns aren’t fully understood.

I founded Weight In Gold™ because people living with obesity and chronic overweight deserve effective treatment and a place where they feel heard. Your worth is never measured by your weight. Your health concerns deserve thoughtful medical care.

Leslie Golden, MD, MPH, DABOM, FOMA, is board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. She combines medical expertise with graduate-level training in behavior change and a commitment to treating obesity without shame or blame.

Dr. Golden serves on the Obesity Medicine Association Board of Trustees, Obesity Action Coalition Board of Trustees, The Obesity Society's Clinical Practice Committee, and as President of the Wisconsin Obesity Society. She received the Obesity Medicine Association’s 2025 Dr. Vernon B. Astler Award and contributes to national physician education and clinical guidance in obesity medicine.

As founder and leader of Weight In Gold, she brings that expertise to the multidisciplinary team’s approach to care: careful evaluation, evidence-based treatment, shared decisions, and ongoing support. Whether you see Dr. Golden or another member of the team, those principles guide your care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Golden enjoys cycling, hiking, travel, quality time with her husband Trevor, and dedicating her time to rescuing animals.
